The new Google Pixel and Pixel XL have an exclusive set of navigation buttons that, initially, cannot be replicated in any other Android terminal. And we say in principle because thanks to the medium Chromloop, the navigation buttons and special animation on these smartphones are no longer an exclusive feature, so you can install the Google Pixel navigation bar on the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P.
Aside from being quite eye-catching, the true sense of installing the Google Pixel navigation bar is to enjoy the animation of Google Assistant that is activated by pressing the start button. Now thanks to a small ZIP file you can enjoy this feature in the latest Nexus models just like this week happened with the Pixel camera app.
In order to install the Zip on your Google Nexus 5X or Nexus 6P you must meet a series of requirements:
- Have a rooted Nexus 5X or Nexus 6P
- Have the Android 7.1.1 beta installed (build NPF10c)
- Have Custom Recovery in the terminal
Install Pixel Nav Bar Animation
If you meet all the above requirements, the first thing you will have to do is download the flashable ZIP that leads to Nexus models to your devices. Google Pixel navigation bar and the animation of Google Assistant.
Then start Custom Recovery. Be sure to make a full backup using Nandroid if you haven’t done it recently.
Once these steps are completed, click on the “Install” button in the TWRP main menu and then go to the folder download from the device, where you have hosted the ZIP file. From here, select the file Pixel-Navbar-Animation.zip and slide the slider at the bottom of the screen to install the mod.
Finally, reboot the system when the installation is complete. When you turn the Nexus 5X or Nexus 6P back on, you should see the new buttons on the Google Pixel navigation bar at the bottom of your screen.
