Daydream, Google’s VR in Android 9 Pie: compatibility requirements

What are the requirements for Daydream on Android 9 Pie

For high performance, terminals:

  • They must have two physical cores
  • Support sustained performance mode
  • Have the option android.hardware.vr.high_performance
  • Support H.264 decoding at least at 3840 Γ— 2160 in 30fps-40Mbps
  • Support HEVC and VP9 decoding at least 1920 Γ— 1080 at 30fps-10Mbps and should be able to decode at 3840 Γ— 2160 at 30fps-20Mbps
  • It is highly recommended to support android.hardware.sensor.hifi_sensors and you must have a gyroscope, accelerometer, magnetometer and the requirements related to that utility.
  • The display must have a ratio of at least Full HD and at least Quad HD (1440p) or higher is recommended
  • Must update to at least 60Hz in VR mode
  • Sampling latency in Gray-to-Gray, White-to-Blach and Black-to-White must be less than 3 ms
  • The sampling must have a low persistence mode of at least 5 ms persistence
  • The implemented device must support at least Bluetooth 4.2 and Bluetooth LE Data Length Extension

What Daydream devices are there?
