Discover how to install Android on your computer using VirtualBox

To achieve this one of the best options that exist is VirtualBox, a development that is very simple to use and that allows different operating systems to be installed as in a way that can be called as a guest within the same (Windows) that runs on the computer. Thus, it is not necessary to modify the configuration on the PC, which is very positive.

Below we indicate what you have to do to create a virtual drive on your computer and, later, install Android (in its version X86) to be able to enjoy the development of Google on the PC to give it normal use and without restrictions.

Steps to install Android on PC

The first thing you have to do is download VirtualBox in this link and, later, the Android X86 version (here) which is the one that must be installed in current computers with the aforementioned architecture -the one used by Intel and AMD processors-. The following is install the software that we have mentioned in the first place by following the steps that appear in the wizard that it includes.

VirtualBox

This is what you have to do to create a virtual machine which is the previous step necessary to run Android on the computer:

  • Open VirtualBox and click on the New button

  • Select in the dropdowns Linux in type and in version Linux 2.6 / 3.x (32 bits)

  • Now delimit the space that the creation will occupy, where at least we recommend that you use 8 GB

  • The virtual hard disk must be VDI type and make use of dynamic space, so that in this way there are no later problems

  • Click on Start to run the virtual machine you have generated

  • You will be asked to insert a CD or DVD with the operating system or an ISO image

Android installation process

The time has come to proceed to make Android X86 available so that you can use it, which you will verify that it’s not exactly complex and that it will not take long to be achieved by following the steps that we indicate:

  • You must indicate to the virtual drive the place where the ISO image with the Google operating system that you are going to use is located

  • A window appears in which you have to select the Installation option

  • Now use Quit to return to the main menu where the disk you have created will appear and select it to proceed with the installation. Of course, do not forget to indicate that the file system has to be ext3

  • Format the space to use and select Yes when asked about the GRUB boot loader. In the next question again the option to use is Yes and the installation of Android X86 will begin
