Get and install Android 5.0 Lollipop on your Nexus 4, 5 and 7

The launch of the Nexus 6 and from Nexus 9 is just around the corner and with them, the possibility of starting to play with Android 5.0 Lollipop officially. However, if you are tired of waiting, XDA has already taken care of creating a new ROM based on the firmware that will accompany the Nexus 6 and take it to the Nexus 4, the Nexus 5 and even one of its latest tablets, the Nexus 7 .

As the developers themselves indicate, this ROM is not the final Android 5.0 Lollipop, but rather an enhanced and improved version of the already known preview developed by Google for all those who want to know everything new that this operating system will bring. Therefore, it cannot be taken as a representative part of the experience that we will be able to achieve with Lollipop, but it will help us to understand how the new version will work – despite the fact that many of the details have already come to light, something that you can see in our section Knowing Lollipop– and, above all, test all those applications with Material Design That little by little have been appearing such as Gmail or Google Calendar.

On the other hand, as it is a port developer version, there are still bugs that cannot be solved, including some related to radio, that is, the layer that is responsible for mobile connectivity. Likewise, if you are still interested in experiencing the new Android 5.0 Lollipop on your Nexus terminal with this pre-rooted ROM, all you have to do is download the latest version of the software and what we detail below:

  1. Put the file in the internal memory.
  2. Reboot in Recovery mode, either CWM or TWRP.
  3. Perform a wipe data / Factory reset.
  4. Format system from the “mounts and storage” option.
  5. Choose the option “Install zip” -> “Install zip from sdcard” and choose the file that we have previously downloaded.
  6. Reboot the system (it may take up to 10 minutes, don’t worry).

In the event that you are updating this ROM that is already installed on your Nexus 4, 5 or 7, that is, it is not the first time you have flashed it, you will have to perform the same procedure but skipping the fourth step (format), since the script that takes care of the update does it automatically.

So now you know, if you really want to know everything that Android 5.0 Lollipop has in store for you, don’t wait any longer and get this complete ROM.
