Google Allo Web will be just as bad as WhatsApp Web

Google Allo was announced as the company’s new messaging platform that would come to take over from Hangouts, and that would also be a rival to WhatsApp. However, it had shortcomings with respect to Hangouts, as is the case that it did not have the web version. It was said that it would come, and now we know that it will come, but that it will be a web version as bad as WhatsApp Web.

Google Allo will still not be Hangouts

Although Hangouts was by no means the best messaging application available, it is true that it had some very interesting features, such as the possibility of using it on mobile phones, as well as on tablets and in a web version. That is not possible with WhatsApp. Although WhatsApp Web exists, it is not a real messaging client, but just a screen on which to view WhatsApp on your mobile. If WhatsApp on our mobile does not work, we will not be able to use WhatsApp Web either. This was not the case with Hangouts, whose web version was completely autonomous from the mobile version.

Now Google Allo has come to take over from Hangouts, and it is going to become an application that should also rival WhatsApp. We hoped that it would have those characteristics capable of competing with WhatsApp, but the truth is that it will not reach the level of Hangouts, because its web version, according to current rumors, will be just as bad as WhatsApp Web. That is, it will not be an independent version of the mobile application, but it will simply be software that can be started from the web and that connects to the mobile, but that we cannot use from the smartphone. That is to say, we will have to use our mobile again to be able to talk to other people, just like with WhatsApp Web. In my opinion, it will be just as bad as the most used messaging application in the world, and it will be a lack compared to the previous Hangouts.
