Called Handwrite (handwriting), what Google is looking for with this addition is the possibility of offering its search service in a much simpler way and, also, more accessible for certain users, such as children or the elderly. In addition, it is still, at least curious, the power use the phone or tablet as if it were a blackboard.
Launched this service for iOS and Android, the minimum requirements necessary in Google’s own operating system are Android 2.3 in the case of phones and, if what is used is a tablet, the required version is Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), so in the second case the number of compatible devices is, for now, reduced. And nothing else, since the text input can be done with the finger, so a stylus is not essential.
Google indicates that the recommended browser to use Handwrite is Chrome (What a surprise, right?), But it indicates that it is fully functional in any other that is used. To activate the service, all you have to do is go to the Google search settings page, check the Handwrite option and that’s it!
The user experience we have had is, for now, satisfactory. Does not work bad and it adequately recognizes the text that is entered, although in terminals with a screen smaller than 4 ”I get the feeling that the user experience will not be particularly good. By the way, Google Handwrite is ideal for entering searches in the car or when talking to another person.
