Google Play Movies. Full test and analysis (I)

As we said, now, when visiting Google Play, the presence of Google Play Movies stands out. Along with the usual applications, we now have the movies. The first thing to do is download the application. Here they have already had the first success. Google Play Movies is compatible with all versions of Android. In my case, and to see what it is capable of, I have installed it on my old Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000, which still runs Android 2.2 Froyo.

After requesting several permissions to associate them with your accounts on Google or YouTube, we enter the application. On the welcome page appear two options: My rentals (still empty) and Personal Videos, to view your own recordings or stored videos (another day we will stop at the operation of the player itself with your movies).

Before renting anything, it is very convenient to stop by the Settings section. There are few that need to be done, but important. Thus, you can activate the option to notify you before streaming if you are connected to the mobile network. In addition to the slower speed, downloading or watching two or three movies can leave you without data in an oversight. In the download section, also you can tell him to only do them via WiFi or in any network (there you). Finally, you have the option of choosing between four different sizes of subtitles, from the smallest to the very large.

Once the configuration is done, we have to go to the store to choose which movie we are going to see this Sunday. Google Play Movies is structured in four parts. On the one hand, it offers you the catalog (about 300 for now) in seven categories: Action and Adventure, Animation, Comedy, Drama, Documentary, Family or Horror. Another option is to be guided by those highlighted by the store, the most downloaded / rented or the premieres. In all of these there is a movie that I wanted to see and it is The Artist.

In the next post we will tell you about the download process, the prices, the quality of the film and the problems that we encounter.
