Google Translate already allows translating conversations and images in real time

In this way, this development competes face to face with Microsoft’s Skype. The fact is that with these new options Google Translate becomes an ideal companion when traveling (It was before, everything must be said) since its usability increases exponentially if you do not know the language of the country you are visiting.

Multiple languages available

When we indicated in Android Help that the Mountain View company was working on this new functionality for its translation application, one of the great doubts that existed was the number of languages that would be compatible with it at launch. And, the truth is that the news in this section is excellent since the number reaches 36 supported (although online translation is only available in two directions in English, German, French, Portuguese, Italian, Russian and Spanish translation).

In addition, the use of this new functionality is very simple. For example, if you want to know what it says on a sign on a wall (as in the image below) you simply have to capture the image using the camera of the terminal in question and, automatically, Google Translate translates what it says in it. By the way, the results appear directly without changing the image and, in addition, without the need to be connected to the Internet.

Talk without difficulty wherever you want

If you have any difficulty understanding the person you are talking to who is from a foreign country, Google Translate makes this no longer a problem. This is possible since using the microphone of the Android terminal corresponding (activating it within the development by clicking on the icon that exists), the application recognizes the two languages that are being used and will automatically translate what is said.

Conversation translation with Google Translate

At the moment the corresponding update of the application is not available, but it will arrive in a few days according to Google itself. The fact is that what we indicated a few days ago in Android Help is confirmed and the translation application of the Mountain View company becomes one of the most powerful on the market today. Without a doubt, Google Translate becomes a development indispensable on an Android terminal (this improvement will also come for iOS).
