There are applications that we want to have on our device, and that we use more or less regularly. But of which we are not interested in receiving notifications. It happens, for example, with certain apps to book trips –that constantly alert of offers- or with clothing store apps, for example. Whatever your case, you have the option of disable notifications and still keep the app installed and running on a regular basis. It won’t bother you with alerts again when you make this change in the device settings.
How to disable notifications from your apps
You have to access the application Settings, and within it locate the section of Apps and notifications, which may appear under a similar name on some smartphone manufacturers and models. If it does not appear like this, it will be because there is an Applications section and another Notifications in an independent way; and if so, obviously we will access the latter and then access the list Of applications. This list is the one of the apps that produce notifications, and if it appears ‘summarized’, then we will click on All or Show all, so that the complete list appears.
Here, in some terminals we can see the list only with the apps that have recently produced notifications, or open the filter so that the complete list appears. If we click on an application, then the panel of setting in full, regarding the notifications of that particular application. We will find the option Show notifications that will appear marked if, indeed, we have activated that they are shown.
Therefore, for disable notifications of that application, we would only have to click on the sliding button of the Show notifications option so that are disabled. And the app will really continue to receive updates, but it will not appear in the device’s status bar and it will not send us an alert in the form of sound or vibration. If we want to check its news, we will have to open it manually from this change that we just made.
