What is synchronization?
If you are one of those who came to Android with Lolllipop, or you updated very quickly, it is possible that you do not know what synchronization is. This basically doesn’t exist on the iPhone. We are talking about the function that allows us to activate or deactivate the possibility for applications to synchronize and receive new data. For example, if we deactivate the synchronization, we would not receive WhatsApp messages, unless we entered the application. What is the purpose of deactivating synchronization? To avoid wasting data or battery, perhaps when we have almost no data left on the rate that we have contracted, or when we have little battery. In previous versions of Android, the synchronization was very well known, and it appeared even among the quick settings. It is now almost inaccessible, as the connections are believed to be better. But it’s not always like this. Where’s the Sync on Lollipop?
Synchronization on Lollipop
Forget about finding it in the quick settings. To get to the synchronization in Android Lollipop you will have to go to Settings, and once here to Accounts. In the button with three dots that appears in the upper right corner, if you press, you will find the possibility of deactivating the automatic synchronization.
It is good that you know, because deactivating it will save battery and data. But also, if for any reason you see that you do not receive messages to WhatsApp, or that you do not receive Tweets, the easiest thing is that you have deactivated this option at some point, and now you know how to find it, to activate it, if this is your case.
