Twilight: protect your eyes in a simple way before sleeping
If we use our smartphone before going to sleep, it may cause discomfort and make it difficult to sleep. This is due to the blue light emitted by most screens, which affects our eyes. To avoid this, the “simplest” thing is to filter that blue light. And this is what it takes care of Twilight, a free application available on the Play Store that places a red filter on the screen to protect us.
Once downloaded, Twilight allows you a series of settings. You can set the temperature color to match your environment, determine the intensity to better fit your use, set Schedule sunrise and sunset … You can also use a GPS tracking automatic so that the app decides for itself when to activate. In addition, it also offers a button in the notification bar so you can activate and deactivate Twilight when you need it.
F.lux: a veteran program only available for rooted phones
The other option if you are not convinced by Twilight is to use F.lux, a veteran program that already performs similar functions on Windows and Mac. F.lux is a safe and veteran option that places a orange filter on the screen to protect our eyes. Your app is very recent and is still in a previous version. Furthermore, it is only available to rooted devices, something you can learn to do with our Android rooting tutorials.
Furthermore, F.lux slightly varies its behavior. It will ask you to set the earliest time you will get up, and it will increase the intensity of its filter as the time approaches. In this way, it serves as a reminder for you to go to sleep and get enough rest. It will also allow you to set different temperatures depending on whether you are outdoors, at home, under a flexo, and so on.
If you want to try Twilight, you can download it for free from the Play Store. You can also buy the Pro version to support its developers. In the same way, F.lux It is available for free, but at the moment it is only a previous version that works exclusively on rooted devices:
