Sometimes there are very useful applications that we have always installed on our smartphone, and that we reinstall even if we change mobile. However, some of these are annoying because their icon always appears in the toolbar. notifications, as if they were permanent, making us wonder if we really want to have that application installed. However, it is very easy to remove and hide that icon, without stopping the application.
Carrying out this process does not imply any difficulty, since it is an option that the system itself has incorporated, and that it is likely that we have seen many times without even realizing that it offered us this possibility. Moreover, it is very likely that even looking now we were able to not realize that this way we can prevent the icon from appearing. This option can be found very easily in the Settings menu.
To hide the notifications, we go to the Settings menu, and within the Device section, we find the Applications option, which is the one that interests us. Here we will be seeing the downloaded applications that we have installed, although scrolling between the tabs we will be able to see other applications, such as those that are pre-installed on the smartphone. We locate the application whose notifications we want to hide, and click on it. Once it has been opened, we will be seeing several options such as Force stop, or Uninstall. But just below those two buttons, we will find a checked box that indicates Show notifications. All you need to do is uncheck that box.
It can be very useful for applications like Adblock Plus or some other application that shows the icon permanently in the notification bar. And it’s not just a question of the icon only, but all notifications can be hidden as well. If we have an app that generates advertising, but that we do not want to deactivate, we can also carry out the same procedure to prevent it from sending us advertising.
