There are times when we are unable to attend to incoming emails. The option of postpone in Gmail it is focused precisely on this. By using it, selecting a date and time for a specific email message, we will be telling the customer Gmail to alert us to that email at another time. That is to say, as we were advancing, the message ‘it will come back to us’ as if it were new, but when we want it. Thus, we can manage the messages received in a simpler way, organizing ourselves according to what interests us over time. And this, of course, we can do in Gmail for Android.
How to postpone Gmail messages for another date and time of your choosing
For postpone any email message in Gmail, we simply have to start by opening the application. Once opened, within the inbox we will select any message as if we were going to attend to it at that moment, as if we were going to read it. And when we open it and see its content, we will click on the icon with three dots in vertical orientation in the upper right corner, to open the options menu.
Here we will find the options of ‘Move to’, ‘Change labels’ and other settings among which, indeed, the option of Postpone. We will click here, and the next thing that will happen is that the email application will offer us several default options to postpone the message with which we are working. If they serve us, we will select one of them and the changes will be applied. Otherwise, we can click on the option that says ‘Choose date and time’ to establish what interests us.
In any of the cases, when the date and time that we have configured for the postponed Gmail message arrives, we will receive a new notification. And as we mentioned at the beginning, this notification will be identical to the one that would reach us if it were a new email message. Now, in orange, the application will alert us when the message was postponed by ourselves.
