How to update apps without using Google Play

Perhaps it has ever happened to you that you have gone to Google Play to find an app that has been recommended to you and there is no way to find it. You should know that the google app store It is not the only reliable site with which you can easily get applications. In fact, many other sources release very useful applications that are left out of Google Play for many factors. If it is not the first time that you download applications from other sources, you will have verified that you have to be aware to see if your apps have the latest version or not. What is APK Updater for?

In case you did not know, an APK file is any that is intended to be installed on the Android operating system, therefore, any of your applications for practical purposes, has that extension. As its name suggests, APK Updater will take care of keeping all those .apk files up to date. That said, let’s check how it works once installed.

In the right screen we can see a listed with the applications that our phone has and the version they are in. If we click on the button in the lower right corner with the clock symbol, APK Updater will check if we have any application with new versions available.

As can be seen in the photograph on the left, there are three tabs at the top. The first shows the list of total applications that our phone has, the second shows which of them have available updates, and the third is a search bar so that we can find a specific app more quickly. We can click on install to update applications one by one. Then a confirmation window will appear, like the one shown in the image on the right.

Finally, you can make some settings to your liking in the settings tab. You will be able to customize the color of the application, decide if you want notifications or not, determine at what time you want checks to be made for updates, exclude apps of some kind or choose the origin of the applications (you can uncheck the Google Play box if you want only those downloaded from other sources to be checked).
