Just a few days ago we saw how Huawei’s P Lite range had evolved since the Huawei P8 Lite up to the current Huawei P10 Lite. Now, it’s time to face the most modern of the range, the P10 Lite, against another of the most advanced mid-range on the market: The Samsung Galaxy A5 2017.
Both phones have metal bodies. On the one hand, the Huawei P10 Lite shows a more stylish design. A glass and aluminum design, notably thinner than its rival. The Huawei P10 Lite beats its rival in RAM. Huawei’s phone arrives with a processor HiSilicon Kirin 658 eight-core (4 x 2.1 GHz and 4 x 1.7 GHz) and 4 GB of RAM. For its part, the Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 has an eight-core Samsung Exynos 7880 processor that reaches 1.9 GHz and is compatible with Cortex-A53. The RAM memory of the Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 stays at 3 GB.
In autonomy and storage, both phones arrive with the same characteristics. The autonomy of one and the other is 3,000 mAh and losc dos has fast charging technology. In terms of storage, both have the same capacity: 32 GB of storage with the ability to be expanded via microSD.

The models arrive with different installed base operating system. The Huawei P10 Lite works, out of the box, with EMUI 5.1, based on Android 7.0 Nougat. For its part, the Samsung phone comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

When deciding on one or the other model, the Huawei P10 Lite stands out for its 4 GB RAM. Also, for many, the design could be one of their points in favor over the rival and the fact that it works with a more modern operating system: Android Nougat. For its part, the Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 improves in the photographic section and also in details such as protection against water and dust.
Both phones cperfectly meet the requirements of a mid-range user and they are more than enough for those looking for a phone in this range: correct performance, capacity to match, acceptable autonomy.
Price-wise, the two phones cost a similar amount. The Huawei P10 Lite is priced at 350 euros while the Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 is priced at 360 euros.
