Until now, the mobiles with a screen without bezels are the high-end mobiles, which have a really expensive price. In fact, we will most likely have to pay 600 euros or more to buy a new smartphone with a screen without bezels. However, mid-range mobiles with a screen without bezels will arrive in 2018.
Mid-range phones with a screen without bezels
Actually integrating a screen without bezels in new smartphones is not something that represents a much higher cost for manufacturers when designing the new smartphone. It implies limitations, because for example, it is necessary for the fingerprint reader to be in the rear section of the smartphone, eliminating the Home button on the mobile, and having to integrate the virtualized buttons on the screen. It also means having to design a front camera and speaker module that takes up less space. But apart from that, which does not have to involve a higher cost, but simply a modification in the manufacturing processes, since now they can no longer integrate the same speaker modules that they integrated before, mid-range mobiles could be mobile with a screen without bezels just like high-end mobiles. They will continue to be mid-range mobiles, with mid-range processors, and with 2 or 3 GB RAM. Displays will remain Full HD at best, and even HD. And they will be smartphones with mid-range cameras, without dual cameras, and without the possibility of recording in 4K.
However, they will be mobiles that will have a screen without bezels, and therefore, a somewhat more modern design. In 2018, mid-range mobiles with a screen without bezels will arrive. It would be the case, for example, of the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2018) and Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018). They will have a bezel-less screen similar to the Samsung Galaxy S8. It also seems that the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 could have a display without bezels. However, there will be many more mid-range mobiles that in 2018 have a screen without bezels.
