As we have said, MIUI is a very extensive customization layer, especially in its tenth version, and we may never fully know it, but we are sure that with these tricks you will be closer to being a master of the popular customization layer. Let’s go there.
Leave the desk to your liking
One of the main strengths of MIUI 10 is the possibilities it gives you to customize the system, so the first thing we can do is leave the desktop to our liking. How? Well, we can modify the size of the grid and put widgets, default wallpapers, change the transition effects, choose the main screen, fill or not fill the empty cells, etc.
To do this, we will only have to press and hold in an empty place on the screen, and different options will be opened: Widgets, wallpapers and settings. So you can enter widgets or change the wallpaper, but it is in Settings where we find all the customization part that perhaps other manufacturers do not offer us, is where we can modify transition effects, change the design of the grid, etc.
Rate how you like more to make it adapted to your needs. You can also install themes from the app that comes by default for it, so you can change the icons or the system design.
Move multiple applications on the desktop
You can select several applications at the same time, to do so we will have to press and hold on an empty place on the screen and select the apps that we want to move, when moving an app we will see that all the selected ones move with it. This makes reorganizing the desktop much easier.
Better use of multitasking
A good use of multitasking is what can be appreciated the most in an operating system, especially if you are a person who likes a lot or has to work with your mobile phone, and MIUI 10 is a good option for all those people, as well that an easy trick to finish mastering the multitasking of this layer is to press and hold on an application that is in our multitasking. By doing so we can select leave it in the background, you have the option of split the screen and put that app in one half and access the options. This way you will surely go faster while you work.
Quick access to camera
If you are one of those who take photos when you see the occasion, we do not want this occasion to be lost, therefore, what better way than to have quick access to the camera. To activate it we will have to go to Settings> Lock screen and password> and activate the option Run camera, That will allow us Open the camera by pressing the volume down button twice on the lock screen.
Hide files in file explorer
Something good about Android is having the ability to have a file explorer as if it were a desktop operating system, which makes it ideal for work. And if your job also requires you to deal with private or confidential documents, what better way to hide them.
To do this you will have to go to the file explorer, find the file you want to hide, hold down and select hide, then you put a password and voila, the file cannot be seen or previewed without the password.
Put passwords to applications
Yes, there are applications dedicated entirely to this, but with Xiaomi you can do it natively. To put passwords to the applications you will have to go to Settings> Security > App lock and there we select the applications that we do not want other people to see, we put a password and that’s it.
Do you want to use two different accounts in the same app? There are apps that allow it natively, but there are others that don’t, so if you want to have the same app with different accounts, you can clone them, to do so you will have to go to Settings> Applications> Dual applications and we select the one we want to clone, which will appear on our desktop with a distinctive seal.
And finally, if you want to have a desk for work and one for leisure (for example), you can create a second desk, you can search for it in Settings with the name of Second space, and allows you to create a separate desktop with your own notifications, your own apps, and your own accounts. Something really useful for certain users.
These are some of our recommendations to fully master MIUI, although we could make a much longer list. Do you want to leave us your own tricks? Leave it in comments!
