This update does not offer the arrival of the new Android 4.1 operating system, as it is an improvement on Ice Cream Sandwich. The new firmware version is 6.1.B.0.559, which in some locations comes to replace 6.1.B.0.544, which was the one introduced by Android 4 a month ago in the Sony Xperia P model. Obviously, and as usual, the improvement will come via OTA (Over The Air), so its installation is really simple.
Full confidence upgrade
This Sony Xperia P firmware update is PTCRB certified, making it completely reliable. And, just this, it can be indicative that the update takes time to reach users between 10 and 15 days, something that is usually the usual protocol … although some sources indicate that its arrival could be imminent since one of the things that have been tried to correct are the problems of the screen that, sometimes, is practically “frozen”.
Apart from the usual minor bug fixes and performance improvements, which are not always very obvious, it seems that one of the most obvious improvements is that the WiFi connectivity is much better, increasing the stability when transferring data and, also, expanding the coverage. It seems that with the arrival of Ice Cream Sandwich, efficiency in wireless connectivity had been lost.
Now we only have to wait for the arrival of this update, which offers real improvements and which will be very well appreciated by users … who are already claiming the arrival of Jelly Bean from Sony … something that, for now, this company has not commented on.
