Make calls with Android Wear
The only smartwatch with which it is possible to make calls is with the Samsung Gear S2. Of course, only with the version that has mobile connectivity. But there is not a single smartwatch with Android Wear with which you can make calls. The new LG Watch Urbane 2 was going to be released in a version with mobile connectivity, and it was launched. However, defects in the display resulted in the smartwatch having to be withdrawn from the market, so there is currently no Android Wear smartwatch with which to make calls.
Thus, although the Apple Watch was launched months after the first smart watches with Android Wear, the truth is that even more time has passed, and we still do not have smart watches that are really useful. In March or April, the new Apple smartwatch, the Apple Watch 2, could be launched and this could already have the possibility of making calls. If so, we would now have smart watches with Android Wear that are not capable of making calls, but which are also notably expensive, since the cheapest of the new generation have a price of about 300 euros.
Therefore, we do not have cheaply priced Android Wear smartwatches, nor high-priced Android Wear smartwatches with high-level technical characteristics. In the end, it may be more interesting to buy even watches like the Samsung Gear S2, also expensive, but of a high level, and already compatible with all Android smartphones.
