BQ has already become a classic in Spain when it comes to offering good quality mobile phones at affordable prices, and this BQ Aquaris X5 is a clear example of this. It is a mobile that we will have to take into account if we want to buy a mid-range mobile. It comes with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 412, 64-bit, and next-generation processor, a basic-mid-range processor, which is going to become the new star in mobile phones at this price. To this we still have to add a 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory and a 2,900 mAh battery. However, a version with a 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal memory will also arrive.
A great design
However, the most remarkable thing about the BQ Aquaris X5 is its design, as it comes with an aluminum frame, thus being the first smartphone with metal elements in its BQ design. It will not be the only remarkable thing in terms of design, as it weighs only 147 grams, and is 7.5 millimeters thick. It contrasts a lot with the Motorola Moto G 2015, a smartphone in which the design is good, and similar to that of previous Moto Gs, but its thickness is much higher than that of this BQ.
The screen of the smartphone is also at the level of other mid-range of the style, being 5 inches, and with an HD resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels. It does not get to be Full HD, but it is what you can expect from a mid-range mobile that wants to compete with rivals such as the Motorola Moto G 2015. It comes with a 13 megapixel main camera and a 5 megapixel front camera with flash included.
The BQ Aquaris X5 will be available in three versions, black / gray, white / silver and white / rose gold. And it will also be in three different price options:
- 229 euros for the version with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory
- 249 euros for the version with 2 GB RAM and 32 GB internal memory
- 269 euros for the version with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal memory
The smartphone lands with Android 5.1 Lollipop, although from BQ they say that the update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come soon.
