The creator of Android will compete with Google and Apple

Founding Android

However, rivaling two giants like Google and Apple seems impossible. In fact, Andy Rubin only created Android, the operating system that Google later bought and released as free software. It is true that he led the team that was in charge of Android when it was already part of Google, so in reality the success of the operating system is also due to him. However, it was later relegated. Android’s direction fell to now-Google CEO Sundar Pichai, and Andy Rubin ended up leaving Google after temporarily taking over some groundbreaking tech projects that haven’t been launched.

Rival with Apple and Google

Now Andy Rubin has formed a company called Essential, made up of about 40 employees that comes from both Google and Apple. Its objective is to launch a large-format, high-end smartphone, with a great design, and with some modular options, which stands out especially for its artificial intelligence system, and for the entire ecosystem that integrates smart home devices.

Nowadays it seems difficult that any company, even if it is founded by the creator of Android, is capable of competing with Google or Apple, but being as key as the smart home, and artificial intelligence, it would not be strange if it could have some opportunity. And it would not be strange if Google or Apple finally ended up buying this company if they do an interesting job, because after all it is usually something common in the world of technology, that the giants end up absorbing the projects of smaller companies.

Even so, it is still curious that the creator of Android is now working in his own company to compete with Google and Apple.
