The Huawei Nova and Nova Plus are already official as premium mid-range smartphones

Mid-range… and premium

How can a mobile become mid-range, and at the same time be a premium mobile? A priori it doesn’t make sense, but actually it does. We actually identify the mid-range by the technical characteristics of the smartphone. We usually give the premium surname to smartphones with a great finish, or with extra features that are the main ones in the mobile and that are present in those smartphones. Hence, we say that these Huawei Nova and Huawei Nova Plus are mid-range, but premium phones.

Huawei Nova

At first it was said that this Huawei Nova could be a smartphone aimed at the female market, but the truth is that it is not. Yes, it is true that a mobile phone with a 5-inch screen that can be used with one hand may have more reach in the female market than large mobile phones with a 5.7-inch screen. But the truth is that the Huawei Nova is a perfectly useful mobile for any user as a compact mobile. And it is that not only highlights the fact that it has a 5-inch screen, by the way, with a Full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. It also highlights the fact that this screen has a bezel of only 1.8 millimeters, much less than the iPhone and the Samsung Galaxy S7. All with a design inspired by the Nexus 6P, launched by the company last year, with a metallic finish, and with a curved rear section, which theoretically improves ergonomics.

To this we must add an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and 3 GB RAM, as well as a 32 GB internal memory that can be expanded by means of a microSD card. Its camera is 12 megapixels, and integrates a 3,200 mAh battery, as well as a fingerprint reader.

Huawei Nova Plus

Huawei Nova Plus

Although its name is the same with the addition of the Plus, the truth is that this smartphone is radically different from the Huawei Nova. Its appearance does not resemble that of the mobile that was launched as a Nexus last year, but more to that of the Huawei Mate 8. And it is that it already resembles this by having a screen of a larger size, 5.5 inches, also in this case with Full HD resolution. Its processor is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 with eight cores, and it also has a 3 GB RAM. As far as internal storage is concerned, it has a memory of 32 GB, which can be expanded by means of a microSD card of up to 128 GB. Its camera is 16 megapixels and has optical image stabilization. All with a fingerprint reader, and a battery that goes up to 3,340 mAh.

We do not yet know the price with which these two smartphones will be launched, but in any case they will be somewhat cheaper than the company’s high-end phones, although with a really beautiful design.
