LG G5, in technical data
We are going to talk about the technical data first, and then talk about the key of this new mobile. The LG G5 has technical characteristics of the highest level. It finally arrives with a 5.3-inch screen with a Quad HD resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. This screen includes the Always On function, similar to that of the LG V10, but without having to be present on a second screen. Thanks to this function, we can see the time or the notifications we receive without having to turn on the screen, thus saving a lot of battery, since it is estimated that each user turns on the mobile screen 150 times each day. It also has a new-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, and 4 GB RAM. Its internal memory is 32 GB and can be expanded by means of a microSD card of up to 2 TB. Its main camera is 16 megapixels, with an 8 megapixel front camera. And in addition, it has a second main camera, which stands out for its wide-angle lens, which is 8 megapixels. Its design is metallic and will be available in four different colors and its battery will be 2,800 mAh. However, these characteristics remain in the background to the true novelty of the mobile.
It is almost a modular mobile
And it is that it almost becomes a modular mobile. Its battery, as well as the lower section of the mobile, can be separated from the smartphone to, for example, change them for a different battery. In other words, the battery is replaceable, a very useful feature for all users who need a higher autonomy on their smartphones. But, in reality, the possibility of removing the battery makes this smartphone a modular mobile, and two additional modules have already been launched for it. One of them is LG CAM Plus, which will give us a series of buttons with which to capture photographs at an advanced level. It includes buttons to turn the camera on, shoot, zoom, focus or lock the exposure, which will be very useful for advanced photographers, and all while maintaining the battery. What’s more, it not only maintains the battery, but adds more battery, 1,200 mAh more capacity to be able to shoot more photos. Goodbye to compact cameras.
The second module is a Bang and Olufsen High Definition Audio DAC. Yesterday we said that a lack in mobiles was the quality of the audio. And much of the blame is on the DAC, the digital-to-analog signal converter. Well, the LG Hi-Fi Plus with Bang and Olufsen technology will allow us to connect a high quality DAC to the LG G5 for all those users who want to use the smartphone as a high quality audio medium. In addition, it can also be used as a DAC for a PC or for another smartphone, so it will continue to be a useful accessory once we stop using the LG G5, or even if we have other mobiles.
Launch and availability
The new LG G5 will arrive in four colors: silver, gray, gold and pink. We still do not have a definitive date of availability in Europe or an official price, although there is talk of about 700 euros.
