How much should a mid-range smartphone cost today? The answer to that question is not very clear, but we can safely say that it must be cheaper than the cheapest high-end smartphone we can find. The new price of the Sony Xperia M2, then, is a fair price, as it is at 289 euros. If we take as a reference the price of the Nexus 5, which is at 349 euros in its most basic version, we can say that the Sony Xperia M2 has a more or less normal price, although somewhat expensive, as usually happens with the terminals of Sony, Samsung, LG and HTC in recent years.
The smartphone has a 4.8-inch screen with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. Its processor is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 with four cores capable of reaching a clock frequency of 1.2 Ghz. The RAM memory, as is common in a mid-range, stays at 1 GB, while the internal memory is 8 GB, leaving 5 GB free for the user. This memory can be expanded by means of a microSD card of up to 32 GB. For its part, the camera is 8 megapixels, allowing us to record Full HD videos at 30 frames per second, also carrying a 2 megapixel front camera for video calls. Its battery will be 2,300 mAh.
The Sony Xperia M2 will arrive in European stores in April, as reported by the company, for the mentioned recommended price of 289 euros, and in three colors: black, white and purple. The operating system that it will carry at launch will be Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
