The simplest way to root Nexus 6 on Windows

How to root Nexus 6 on Windows

We start with the operating system used by most users around the world, Windows. In this case, the best thing we can do to easily root the smartphone is to use Nexus Root Toolkit. It is a set of tools that allow us to carry out various procedures related to the Nexus 6. One of them is, as can be deduced from its name, root the smartphone. However, it is not the only thing, because it is also possible to install a custom recovery, restore the smartphone completely, unroot the Nexus 6, make a backup, etc. This set of tools is not only compatible with the Nexus 6, but also with the vast majority of Nexus, especially the most recent ones. The best of Nexus Root Toolkit is that it does not use any operating system error to root the smartphone, but is based on access to a low level of programming (that is, with fewer layers of code translation to machine language), which has been obtained from the unlocked bootloader . You don’t have to know all these terms to root Nexus 6, so there is no problem.

Once you have finished the process, you will have the smartphone rooted, with SuperSU installed in it, as well as BusyBox. You just have to follow the following steps on your Windows computer.

1.- Activate the development options: As you know, for some versions of Android, the development options are not accessible in the menu. This is to prevent non-expert users from activating any option that does not allow them to use the smartphone correctly later. Therefore, before using the development options, we have to activate them, for this we go to Settings> About phone, and locate the Build number at the end. Click on this seven times until the development options are activated.

2.- Access the Development Options: Once active, now we can find them in the menu, for that, we go back, or if we have returned to the smartphone desktop, we go to Settings, and we can locate Development Options.

3.- Activate USB Debugging: Look for this option, and activate it. It will allow us to access the files on the smartphone from the computer using the Nexus 6’s USB connection.

4.- Activate Allow OEM unlocking: This option is only available on the Nexus 6 and on very few other Android smartphones and tablets. However, it makes the process easier. Activate this option as well.

5.- Download Nexus Root Toolkit: You can download this set of tools for Windows from the link below.

6.- Run Nexus Root Toolkit: This program will run like any other Windows program. This is an executable file, so you don’t need to install it on your computer.

7.- In Nexus Root Toolkit, select the smartphone you want to root, as well as the compilation of the operating system that you currently have installed. Remember that you can see the Build Number in step 1.

8.- Configure the Nexus 6 drivers. To do this, you can use the guide in the Nexus Root Toolkit, in case you haven’t already done so.

9.- If you need it, make a backup copy of the smartphone files before rooting, thus avoiding losing information.

10.- Unlock (Unlock) the Nexus 6, if necessary.

11.- Root the Nexus by clicking on Root.

Remember that you can find complete guides to perform this video procedure in the program itself, so if at any time you do not know how to perform these steps, you will only have to resort to this guide, although it is much simpler than it may seem in a simple post. In the end it is a matter of a few clicks.
