Real me is a new brand of smartphones that has just landed on the market, it has done so from Spain –is where you have your HQ- and has gained everyone’s attention with a range of devices with surprising value for money. So, effectively, they have also gotten the interest of developers, who very little time have taken to get the first custom ROM with Android Stock and of course the TWRP custom recovery.
The first to receive software from third-party developers have been the Realme 5 Pro and the Realme XT. At the moment, the Realme 5 Pro seems to be the one that has attracted the most attention, so for it we already have a first version of TWRP, the custom recovery with which we can take backups at the NAND level, as well as flash custom ROMs from a ZIP file, among other important things. The Realme XT, however, what you already have is a first custom ROM with Android Stock, more specifically an unofficial version of LineageOS 16. That although it is one of the most important custom ROMs, it is not official and it is not the most recent version, which is LineageOS 17.
First custom ROMs for Realme mobiles
The Realme 5 Pro also has its first custom ROM with Android Stock, which is also an adapted version of LineageOS 16 and which, obviously, is not official either. In both cases we can have problems of instability, and support of some of the hardware components, so it is not recommended to flash on devices that we use as main ones. However, it is a first opportunity to have Android Stock, for those who do not want ColorOS.
To be able to flash the custom ROM before it is necessary to have unlocked the bootloader and installed a modified recovery menu, which we can already do in the Realme 5 Pro. Seeing the interest shown by the developers, although these two LineageOS 16 distributions have bugs important, it is evident that it will not take more than a few days to see new official and unofficial custom ROMs without bugs and stability problems.
For now, for those who want to try on their new devices, in the following links are the threads –on the XDA Developers forum- and all the necessary material to be able to test LineageOS 16 in these models and to be able to install TWRP in the Realme 5 Pro. There, in addition, are the corresponding indications about the faults that have been found during the installation in one and the other model.
